Bay of Islands Sailing Week Incorporated (BOISW) has officially adopted a new Constitution under the Incorporated Societies Act 2022, marking an important governance milestone as organisers turn their full attention toward delivering the 2027 regatta and rebuilding momentum toward a landmark 25th event in 2028.

The new Constitution was approved at a recent Special General Meeting, with the organisation extending its sincere thanks to all members and stakeholders who attended and contributed to the process.

With governance matters now complete, planning is firmly underway for the 24th Bay of Islands Sailing Week Regatta, scheduled for 24 – 28 January 2027. Organisers have set a clear objective of growing participation back to 100+ entrants in time for the milestone 25th regatta in 2028.

The committee also acknowledged the success of last year’s regatta, which delivered outstanding racing despite significant challenges. While financially difficult, the event highlighted the strength of support within the sailing community.

“Last year showed just how important Bay of Islands Sailing Week is to so many people,” said the BOISW Chair. “The willingness of individuals, who wish to remain anonymous, to personally step forward and support the event financially was incredibly humbling. That commitment has reinvigorated the team and strengthened our determination to deliver an event the sailing community can be proud of.”
