Happy New Year! We’re now just two weeks away from NZ’s biggest and best multi-day regatta. We’re already seeing lots of boats from our growing entry list out there enjoying the fine weather and spectacular cruising that the Bay of Islands has to offer.

Kevin Murphy owns the Steve Tompson-designed 38 footer Titanium – another new name on the B Division entry list this year. We caught up with him for a quick chat about the boat, which he’ll be bringing up from Auckland for her first ever Bay of Islands Sailing Week.

It’s that time of year again – the days just seem to fly by, and before you know it, it’ll be next year. So if you haven’t signed up for BOISW 2017 yet, better get in quick, because late entry fees apply for entries received after 31 December 2016.

For the second year running, Bay of Islands Sailing Week has been selected to host the IRC Nationals. That means boats with valid IRC certificates will be able to compete for the prestigious Nationals trophies alongside the usual Bay Week honours.

Time is ticking away and there’s still plenty to organise – berths, crew, accommodation, bottom clean, get the boat to the Bay, provisioning… Need we go on?
